SPECIAL WORKSHOP Modern Arrangement With 1616 / arita japan
About the Lesson
About the Lesson
A modern preserved flower arrangement lightly infused with the fresh air of spring.
For this lesson, we will use a teacup from the 1616 / arita japan – 1616/MANZ “Contour” by Richard Manz series. True to 1616 / arita japan’s distinctive approach, the piece embodies a refined, timeless, and modern aesthetic that reinterprets traditional Arita ware.
Based on the archive of Danish ceramic artist Richard Manz and developed through a dialogue with his daughter, Cecilie Manz, the vessel is simple yet possesses a quiet, confident presence.
The preserved flowers arranged within it are selected in soft ivory tones and styled with a clean, contemporary sensibility to enhance the minimalist beauty of the cup. Onto this vessel—where Danish and Japanese cultures intersect—we layer a serene and sophisticated expression of spring.
During the lesson, you will learn elevated techniques such as creating natural, lifelike movement reminiscent of fresh flowers and arranging elements to achieve depth and dimension, all explained carefully step by step.
The finished piece blends effortlessly into any interior, gently bringing a sense of spring into everyday life.
We invite you to experience the enduring charm of preserved flowers and enjoy the season for a long time to come.
