Detailed lectures by experienced Instructors, including Nicolai Bergmann

The instructors include Nicolai Bergmann and senior trainers who have studied under him for many years, carrying on his design philosophy. Each lesson features a unique theme, allowing participants to develop essential flower design techniques while receiving personalized guidance to foster their creative thinking. This approach is designed to unlock the full potential of every participant. Although the lessons are primarily conducted in Japanese, English support and assistance are also available.

Lessons for every level

Our flower school does not require you to take lessons consecutively, so you can choose any lesson that best fits your schedule and interests. Tools and materials are all provided, there is nothing you need to bring to the lesson. Join us for a casual week day or weekend slot, or even after work!

Studio location in the heart of Tokyo

Nestled in the vibrant Omotesando district of Tokyo, our studio bathed in natural light features a relaxing ambiance with its exposed concrete walls and white interiors. To enhance your experience, we have a café corner where you can enjoy drinks and snacks during and after the lessons.

Lesson Flow

    Reception at the Nicolai BERGMANN FLOWERS & DESIGN Flagship Store 2nd floor flower school counter (Doors open 30 minutes before the lesson starts)

    Receive the flower material list and take a seat at a table of your choice. Feel free to enjoy Nomu Cafe coffee tea and special sweets.

    Demonstration by one of our instructors (about 30 minutes)

  • 4

    Each participant will begin making their own work. Enjoy creating at your own pace at your own pace while receiving advice from the instructor.

  • 5

    After completion, the instructor will check the work individually and make final comments. If you wish, please take photos of your own work at the designated photo spot.

  • 6

    The staff will pack the work for taking home. Once you receive your work, you may leave the studio.

About the Lessons

QWill lessons always take place according to the schedule?
A
Classes may be cancelled due to weather or if the number of students does not reach the minimum number of participants.
Please note that there may be changes in instructors and lesson content due to circumstances beyond our control.
QWho teaches the lessons?
A
Lessons are taught by Nicolai Bergmann himself along with senior trainers of Nicolai Bergmann Flowers & Design who have worked with Nicolai for many years. Please see Our Instructors
QDo I need to bring anything to the lesson?
A
All tools and materials will be prepared by the school. If you would like to use an apron, please feel free to bring your own.
QCan I reserve a specific seat?
A
Seating cannot be reserved. The flower materials and name cards will be provided at the reception, so please choose your preferred seat on a first-come, first-served basis.
QAre lessons done sitting or standing?
A
You will be working at a high table, so during the fresh flower lessons, you will be required to stand for easier handling. For the preserved flower lessons, chairs will be provided.
If you need a chair during the fresh flower lesson, please feel free to ask the reception staff on the day of the lesson.
QWhere is the school located?
A
The school is located on the 2nd floor of the Nicolai Bergmann Flowers & Design Flagship Store in Omotesando, Tokyo. The nearest station is Omotesando Station. For more details, please see the access information. Lessons held outside the usual studio, such as pop-up classes, are announced on the lesson detail page.
QWhat time can I enter the studio?

We will open doors 30 minutes prior to the start time of the lesson. Please come to the reception and take a seat while you wait for the lesson to begin.
QShould I expect lessons to end at the exactly time stated?
A
Participants may leave in the order their works are completed. Once finished, the instructor will review the creations, and after any photo sessions, the works will be wrapped and handed over. Feel free to leave anytime after receiving your floral creation.
QI don't have any experience with flowers, is it okay?
A
Beginners are more than welcome to our school. You can join any lesson of your interest and we will have staff to help you if you need any extra assistance.
QCan we take home the extra flower materials?
A
Yes, any materials that you did not end up using for your work, you may take home. We have tools to wrap your unused materials as well. If you do not wish to bring any extras home, please leave them at your table.
QWhat kind of floral creations will we be making?
A
We plan our lessons to create flower arrangements and works that match the essence of Nicolai Bergmann Flowers & Design, in an easy-to-understand method. From bouquets to arrangements to art pieces, each lesson is different, and never the same so please choose a theme that sparks your interest!
QWhat kind of students participate in the school?
A
Regardless of level, from beginner to advanced, those who are interested in flowers and Nicolai Bergmann's designs are welcome to join our lessons. Please do not worry about your experience level and aim to enjoy the time being creative and imaginative.
QWhich class does Nicolai teach?
A
Nicolai Bergmann only teaches the "Creative Workshop", in which he chooses the theme and flowers used for each lesson. We recommend early reservations as this is a very popular class.

Reservations / Absence

QCan I make a reservation for my friends?
A
No, reservations can only be made for yourself for each lesson. If you wish to participate with multiple people, each individual will need to make their own reservation.
QCan I cancel my reserved lesson?
A
After the application is completed, we do not accept cancellations or refunds. If you cannot make your reserved lesson for whatever reason, please contact us by phone or email in advance. QI can't make it to the reserved lesson. Can you send me just the flower materials to my home?

Yes, if you are scheduled to be absent to your reserved lesson, please contact us by phone or email in advance. A completed work or just the flower material will be sent to your specified address. Please call us at 03-5464-0745 or email us at school@nicolaibergmann.com
QI cannot make it to lesson. Where should I do?

We will arrange the details for your work or materials to be sent.
QWhat should I do if I will be late to the lesson?
A
If you are late, please contact us by phone.
If you are scheduled to be late for more than 30 minutes, you will be marked as absent. Please be sure to contact us to arrange a delivery of your completed work or materials to desired address.
If you are able to arrive within the lesson time, you can receive your completed work by the instructor or materials directly.
QHow do I make reservations?

1. Choose a lesson
You can choose the lesson that you wish to take from the lesson list, or by filtering by type or instructors. After you find the desired lesson, click for more details and reservation.

2. Add to Cart
From the lesson detail page, select the preferred time of lesson and add to cart. Make sure to read and agree to the important notes and cancel policy. If you wish to reserve multiple lessons, keep adding to your cart.

3. Confirm the contents of the shopping cart is correct, and click "Proceed to Purchase"

4. Check Out
Various payments including credit cards are available at our online shop. If you have a coupon code, enter and click "Apply". Check if all components are correct and filled in and click "Pay Now"

5. Reservation Complete
After your payment goes through successfully, your reservation details will be shown on the screen, completing your reservation. An automatic reservation confirmation email will be sent to your registered email address. Please contact the flower school if you do not receive this email.
QIs it possible to change or cancel?
A
We do not accept cancellations after your reservation is finalized. Changes to the details of your reservation are accepted one week prior to the lesson. Please email or call the flower school with your reservation details and desired changes. (Please note that it may not be possible to edit your reservation details depending on the content of request)
QCan I request a refund?
A
We cannot accept refunds for lessons. If you find out or decide that you cannot make the lesson, and it is past the one week deadline of acceptable changes, please notify the flower school. The instructor will create the equivalent item to be delivered to your desired address (or we can just send the flower materials). We cannot take responsibility for delivery that cannot be received due to personal convenience, so please set an address that is valid and able to retrieve the delivery after the lesson.
QCan I make a reservation through means other than the reservation site?
A
Reservations can generally only be made through the reservation site, and we ask that purchases be made by the participants themselves. Additionally, we strictly prohibit any resale of participation rights for profit under any circumstances. Please note that we will not be responsible for any issues that arise from attendance through unauthorized methods. Thank you for your understanding.

QWhat are the membership benefits?

We have two membership plans available. Black Membership and Premium Membship. There are five benefits that all membership plans share:
1. Prior to the start of general reservation schedule, members will have early access to reserving specific classes. Black Membership is for advanced reservations of all lessons besides the Creative Workshop. Premium Membership is for advanced reservations of all lessons INCLUDING the Creative Workshop.

2. Special Present: Nicolai Bergmann Flower School Original Tote Bag. This is the perfect bag to use for bring home your completed works.

3. Special Present: Birthday Flowers made by our Instructors on your birthday month.

* Please note that lesson prices are the same regardless or membership
* Birthday flowers will be sent to the registered account address on your birth month.

QCan I arrange for the delivery of my finished work instead of taking it home?
A
Yes, we can arrange delivery of your completed work if you do not want to bring it home with you. On the day of the lesson, please pay the shipping fee and fill in the delivery slip. We will use Yamato Transport for the delivery and destinations will be limited to Japan.
QHow do I change from Black to Premium membership?
A
Please contact the staff directly by e-mail or phone. The process will differ depending on when you have joined the first membership.
QCan I post on social media?
A
Yes, please feel free to share your posts. We kindly ask you to be mindful of not showing the faces of other participants in your photos.

Others

QCan I take photos during the lesson?
A
During the demonstration, we kindly ask you to refrain from taking both video and still photos, as it may disturb other participants.
However, you are welcome to take photos of your creation process and your completed work. We do ask that you be considerate of other attendees while doing so.
QCan I attend the professional school as a single session?
A
The Professional School is a separate curriculumn from our regular classes. You cannot take single lessons, you must participate in the year-long course to join our Professional School lessons.
QCan I bring my child to the lesson?
A
We do not accept additional visitors (including children) other than the person who is attending. For those who wish to participate with their children please consider our kids workshops.
QCan I participate while traveling from overseas?
A
Anyone can participate in the lessons, regardless of residency in Japan. While the lessons are primarily conducted in Japanese, we have staff available who can assist in English, so feel free to join!
